Promoting a positive risk culture

Overview
Culture: The stories we tell ourselves about ourselves.
 
A positive risk culture is one where staff at every level appropriately manage risk as an intrinsic part of their day-to-day work. Such a culture supports an open discussion about uncertainties and opportunities, encourages staff to express concerns, and maintains processes to elevate concerns to appropriate levels.  
 
Strong leadership commitment and effective communication are crucial to building a positive risk culture. This course will provide practical strategies to gain commitment and influence a risk culture change within your organisation, including the development of a communications plan. 
 
Guest speakers
  • To gain a broader understanding of how to promote a positive risk culture
  • Review and discuss a range of methods to gain executive commitment
  • Review and discuss a range of methods to bring risk management to the attention of your organisation and improve risk culture
  • Participate in the development of a communications plan

In this engaging sharing session, you will learn more about how well-designed and well-managed systems are key to approaching governance and due diligence for effective delivery of policies and programs.

The awards provide an opportunity for TMF member agencies to showcase achievements within a variety of risk management related disciplines.
 
The 2017 icare TMF Awards for Excellence in Risk Management program is open to all TMF agencies and partnering service providers. The program recognises organisations that can demonstrate a high level of performance in risk management regardless of the size of the business.
