Workers Compensation Reforms

On this page, you'll find all the information detailing how the reforms to the Workers Compensation legislation are being implemented.

The Workers Compensation Legislation Amendment Act 2012 received assent on 27 June 2012. The Act makes changes to workers benefits following the findings of a Joint Select Committee inquiry into the WorkCover Scheme. The changes focus on better meeting the needs of seriously injured workers, encouraging return to work wherever possible and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the scheme. Some of the changes are effective from 19 June 2012, while the remaining amendments will commence at later dates.
